Lakewood Family Medicine’s OB partners are here to listen and empower you with leading resources and medical expertise so that you can make the best decisions for yourself and your family.

At the beginning of your pregnancy, you will meet with our OB nurse to outline both your and our expectations for prenatal, delivery and postpartum care. Our expert providers are here to partner with you as you prepare for your child’s arrival.

Initial Visits

To monitor your progress, we will schedule out the following appointments:

Gynecology

Our office also provides women’s health education and basic preventive exams for reproductive health. Some of these services and exams include:

  • Pap Smear
  • Breast exam
  • Birth control, including implanted devices
  • Colposcopy
  • Hormone replacement therapy

All Women

Starting Age/Risk Factor Service
Family history of breast, ovarian, tubal or peritoneal cancer BRCA risk assessment and genetic counseling/testing
Sexually active Contraceptive counseling
21 Pap test every 3 years, every 5 years after age 30 if normal and HPV negative, stopping at age 65 if normal and HPV negative
40 Mammogram every 2 years
Up to age 65 HIV counseling and screening
65+ Osteoporosis screening

Pregnant Women

First prenatal visit Bacteriuria screening with urine culture, hematocrit or hemoglobin screening, Hepatitis B screening, HIV screening, iron-deficient anemia screening, Rh incompatibility screening
